Aringa, also known as Low Lugbara is a language of Uganda. It has over 495,000 users in Yumbe district: north of Lugbara, west of Ma’di.
It has no known dialects and is intelligible with Lugbara. Aringa has 9 vowels, 26 consonants and is highly tonal.
Aringa speakers consider theirs a separate language and a literacy program on-going: taught in primary schools.
